A bit about me....

I have been working as a Counsellor in
Brighton since 2003.  I completed my training at Brighton University and have a Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling.  I work in a Person-Centred way, but may integrate other humanistic models depending on the needs of each individual client. I am also a qualified counselling supervisor and offer supervision to qualified counsellors and those still in training.

As well as running my private counselling practice, I work part-time as a tutor in counselling skills for Varndean College, delivering courses on site and at a number of community based locations.

I have a broad experience of working with different client groups and have worked for a number of counselling agencies including Addaction, CRI/Equinox, The Women's Centre, Brighton & Hove LGBT Switchboard Counselling Service and spent 2 years managing the Counselling Service for Age Concern in Brighton.  I also have 5 years experience of working Drug and Alcohol services in Brighton, both of 1:1 counselling and facilitating groupwork in a residential rehab.

Before moving into counselling I managed a diversity programme in a large company, delivering workshops on equality, discrimination, bullying and harassment.  I also delivered training in coaching and facilitation skills. Althought I very much enjoyed the area of work I decided to leave that employment to pursue a career in the counselling field.

I am passionate about counselling and am proud to be involved in the profession in a number of different ways, just seeing the difference that counselling can make to people's lives is so rewarding.
